Never go in search of love. Go in search of life, and life will find you the love you seek.

For so very long, I sought love,

Around every corner and in everyone I met.

I didn’t how and when I’d find the one 

Meant for me to love and hold for always.

Time passed and my heart was torn apart,

Many times over and deeper each time,

I traveled the broken roads, looking for the love

That I found so wonderfully in you.

I wasn’t waiting for love any longer,

As time had moved on and my hopes were dimmed,

I had despaired and started thinking, sadly,

That maybe, love wasn’t meant for me.

Instead, I began to better myself and find the love 

For who and what I could become,

Each and every day chasing and falling in love

With myself and being alive in every moment.

So, on that fateful day when our eyes met,

And I knew the answer to all the questions 

I had always asked in search of love..

I realized in an instant you were the one.

The universe has a way of working things out 

When you least expect in ways unforeseen,

And I as look at you now, heart in my hands,

I’m reminded now..

Why I’m so thankful it never worked out with anyone else..

We were always meant to be.
