 She was a girl much like any other, except when it came to love.

Matters of the heart were something she didn’t take lightly and she knew exactly what she wanted..

Only she couldn’t sometimes put it into words.

She knew she’d recognize the feeling of true love when it found her, because she’d encountered all the wrong kinds of love in all the wrong ways.

Those few that were “almost” the one and even the dead ends taught her all the things she didn’t want in love..

But verbalizing exactly what she wanted was almost impossible..

She could tell you all the things she wanted in love and a partner,

But the intangibles - chemistry, goals, love languages..that impossibly long and sometimes unknown list was hard to describe, because she hadn’t found it all yet..

Hence why she was still looking..

Deep down in her heart, she knew when true love finally came knocking on her door, she’d recognize it instantly.

She wanted the butterflies during kisses, the calm contentment in the embrace, the fiery passion of desire..she craved all of it,

And she wouldn’t settle for anything less.

She knew what she deserved and was prepared to hold out for that dream.

Nothing worth having came easy, she realized, especially love.

So, she was tired of kissing frogs looking for a prince and wasn’t ever going to be anyone’s just another option.

She knew that love would come unexpectedly in its own time and she was okay with that.

She knew that forever didn’t happen on a schedule and she spent her time and energy on being the best version of herself that she could be.

So, until love came calling, she would be chasing her dreams, enjoying her life and shining bright like the light she was,

Now and for always.
